Sandy Stardew Valley: Gifts, Oasis Hours and Desert Access

This Sandy Stardew Valley guide helps you plan an Oasis visit. Bring a Daffodil, Sweet Pea or Crocus as a gift. Sandy loves all three, so you can build friendship without buying an expensive present. The bigger obstacle is reaching the Calico Desert: repair the bus first, then plan your gift and shopping around the journey.

This guide covers the unmodded game, including the 1.6 Desert Festival exception. The seasons below are in-game seasons.

How to reach Sandy and the Oasis

Sandy runs the Oasis in the Calico Desert. For normal bus access, complete the Community Centre’s Vault bundles, costing 42,500g in total, or buy the 40,000g bus repair through the Joja Community Development Form. These are alternative progression routes, not two bills you must pay.

After repair, a bus ticket costs 500g and includes your return journey. Ordinary ticket service runs from 10am to 5pm; the shop’s longer opening hours do not mean the bus leaves Pelican Town all evening. See the wiki’s bus access details for schedule exceptions.

Keep travel money separate from the amount you intend to spend at the counter. If you are also saving for animals, our coop upgrade cost guide helps you compare that building budget with a desert shopping trip.

Sandy Stardew Valley gifts you can forage

Choose a loved item you already have before looking for something rare. These three options need no cooking recipe and can also be grown from their corresponding seasonal wild seeds.

DaffodilSpring forageStore a few instead of selling every spare.
Sweet PeaSummer forage, including Pelican TownKeep one aside for a later desert trip.

Foraging does not guarantee that the flower you need will appear that morning. A small reserve in a labelled chest avoids a last-minute search. Keep anything still needed for a foraging bundle before deciding which extras to give away.

This is a short practical selection, not Sandy’s entire gift list. Her full gift preferences include Mango Sticky Rice and universal loves. Sandy is a friendship character; she is not a marriage candidate.

Check the weekly limit before travelling

Normally, you can give one gift per day and two per week. The gifting week starts on Sunday. Check the Social tab’s gift boxes before paying for a trip intended mainly to deliver another present.

Sandy’s birthday is Fall 15. Birthday gifts receive an eight-times friendship multiplier and can still be given after your two ordinary weekly gifts. Loved-gift quality also affects the points awarded. The friendship rules explain these separate modifiers.

For routine visits, consistency is easier with a familiar flower than a complicated shopping list. Put your next gift beside your travel supplies, and make the Social tab part of your pre-trip check.

Oasis opening hours and shopping exceptions

The Oasis normally opens from 9am to 11:50pm. On Fall 15, Sandy leaves at 1pm to spend time with Emily. Visit the counter in the morning if birthday shopping is part of your plan.

During the Desert Festival on Spring 15–17, the building remains accessible, but Sandy’s shop does not operate. Do not rely on a festival visit to restock seeds.

Ordinary fixed stock includes Rhubarb Seeds for 100g, Starfruit Seeds for 400g and Beet Seeds for 20g. Their outdoor growing seasons are spring, summer and fall respectively. Decide which crop you actually need before spending your remaining gold; access to a new shop is not a reason to buy everything.

Your next desert visit checklist

  1. Check the date, bus access and available gift slots.
  2. Pack one suitable gift and reserve the 500g ticket cost.
  3. List the seeds you want and set a separate shopping budget.
  4. Finish the Oasis stop before pursuing other desert activities.

If you maintain crab pots, add their collection to your morning routine before leaving; our crab pot troubleshooting guide covers bait and collection checks. A prepared farm and a packed gift make the visit easier to fit into your day.
